Although it has a very small population, Norway has one of the finest music quality rate in the world. You may think of Röyksopp as its best reference project, but the irreverent Kaizers Orchestra is undoubtedly the most original of them. Presenting a risky mixture of rock, jazz and European folk, the sextet from Bergen (the city that has given us most of Norway's best music) grabs your attention at the first listening. Maestro pushes you over and over, almost forcing you to leave all behind and jump and sing with them, even if you don't understand a word.Dieter Meyers Institusjon, the 6th track, is phased in 3 distinct parts, being probably the most inspired of all compositions, drowning you in a no-way-out melancholic bath. But don't be afraid of not being able to get rid of the sadness. Christiania, the following track, is going to make you hug someone and float along the sound waves, as it is one of the most beautiful balads ever composed. It's a perfect sequence in which I dive almost everyday.
